Selby Lights A Bloom 2022

Posted on December 9, 2022 by Our Town Staff

Tickets are now on sale for Marie Selby Botanical Gardens’ annual Lights in Bloom® holiday light show.

Ranked among the 10 best botanical garden holiday light displays in the country last year by USA TODAY, the walk-through show will run select nights from December 10 through January 5 at Selby Gardens’ Downtown Sarasota campus. Tickets may be purchased online at selby.org or in person at the Welcome Center on either of Selby Gardens’ two campuses.

“Now in its 19th year, our award-winning Lights in Bloom® show really has become a must-do tradition in the Sarasota region,” said Jennifer O. Rominiecki, President & CEO of Selby Gardens. “We love welcoming community members of all ages to experience our downtown bayfront sanctuary magically transformed for the year-end holidays.”

Admission options for each night of the show include early entry at 5:30 p.m. and general admission at 6:30 p.m. On Saturday, December 17, an additional “all inclusive” ticket choice provides on-site valet parking, a buffet dinner and open bar in the Gardens’ Event Center, and early access to the grounds. Ticket pricing and other information for all entry options can be found on the Selby Gardens website.

Lights in Bloom® features more than 2 million lights and other holiday and botanical decorations along the walkways and throughout gardens of the 15-acre Downtown Sarasota campus. Guests also can enjoy games, kids’ activities like balloon twisting and face painting, and signature holiday photo opportunities. Food and beverages, including a cash bar, will be available for purchase from the Michael’s on East Grill, Selby House Café, and other vendors.

In both 2021 and 2019, Lights in Bloom® made the top-10 list of “Best Botanical Garden Holiday Lights” in USA Today’s 10Best Readers’ Choice Awards.

They enjoyed displays like lighted flamingos, tropical butterflies and the ever-popular Caterpillar Tunnel and Wishing Tree, all of which have made a return this year, thanks to Lights in Bloom designers Affairs in the Air.

Lights in Bloom will run from December 10-23, December 26-30 and January 1 and 3-5.

Guests are encouraged to purchase their tickets in advance via Selby’s ticketing portal. This year parking is limited due to on-site construction, but pre-paid valet vouchers can also be purchased in advance, separate from park admission. There are free buses from The Sarasota Art Museum.
